For forty years terrorists based in your country in Florida and Miami have been attacking the people of Cuba. You Mr. President have made so many statements against terrorism that as a consequence you should be giving praise to any persons in your country who act to prevent acts of terror.

Yet your Miami Court has done the opposite. Your extremely biased Miami Court, in which a fair trial was impossible, has given five Cubans the most severe sentences ranging from 15 years to double life in U.S. prisons. What they have done, to protect both Cuban and U.S. citizens against acts of terrorism, is that they have monitored ultra-rightwing Florida-based organisations which have a history of terrorist acts against the people of Cuba, and also against such people in Florida who actively seek a peaceful solution to the conflicts between the sovereign states of Cuba and the U.S.

These five Cubans are heroes. Cuba has the right to protect itself against terrorism, especially considering that your Governments for so many years havn't stopped these terrorists who operate from your shores.

I demand that the U.S. Government immediately sets free the five Cuban heroes Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and René González.
